Tracking two people’s intertwining journey through grief and self-loathing to love and hope, Wayfinding asks us to find a way to forgive ourselves. To find a way to reframe our worldview so that we can see a world in which we can live. To choose life. Through split-scene storytelling, beautiful imagery, and the magic that the universe holds for us, Wayfinding will show audiences the way the world can break open into light and joy if we only let it.
There is a line between laughing and crying that is thinner than the spine of a knife. Going into this rehearsal process, we all expected the work to be mostly somber, however we've been repeatedly pleasantly surprised by how much we are all laughing. And that's really the answer, isn't it? To the question Jane and Harrison find themselves asking over and over again, as tragedy after tragedy and self destructive mistake after self destructive mistake upend their lives: how can I see a world in which I live? A world in which I thrive? As these two find their way, we pave a path for them with our laughter, our tears, and our laugh-tears. With love to my collaborators, to you the audience, and to life, Castor Rosencrantz Kent.
