Inherit the Wind
by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee
This fall, Castor will be assistant directing Inherit the Wind with Tantrum Theatre.
As salient as it was when it was first performed in 1955, Inherit the Wind examines the 1925 Scopes Monkey Trial, in which the law banning the teaching of evolution in public schools was challenged by a teacher in a small Tennessee town. Two titans of the law swoop into this town to take opposing sides on a case in which “the right to think is very much on trial!” Lovers, preachers, teachers, lawyers, children, townspeople, and one eloquent critic clash together in a massive historical moment that threatens to tear the town — and the country — apart.
Performances of Inherit the Wind are 6-22 November 2025, in the Forum Theatre in Athens, OH. Ticket information coming soon.
